Commercial finisher diets purchased in North Jutland 2003/2004
Abstract
The diets were recommended by the regional pig advisory office, and the local pig producers using the diets purchased them anonymously for the trial. The trial comprised the following diets:
There was on average good agreement between the declaration and the analysed nutrient content. The trial showed that the feed from ATR resulted in a significantly reduced productivity that was 8% lower than the diet from Hedegaard. The pigs given the feed from ATR had a higher feed conversion and a lower lean meat percentage than the pigs given the diet from Hedegaard, if measured over the entire growth period. In order to obtain the same economic result, the diet from ATR must be DKK 6 cheaper per 100 FUgp than the diet from Hedegaard. There were no differences in productivity between the remaining diets. |
